The Graduate School of Science and Engineering aims to develop education and research that transcends the boundaries of science and engineering to train highly specialized professionals who can innovate beyond the boundaries of their fields by acquiring a broad range of basic academic abilities and advanced specialized knowledge, as well as a sense of ethics and the creative ability to create new knowledge.
The Mathematics and Informatics Program provides education to bring up human resources who can play a leading role in the future of the advanced information society with the background in mathematics and informatics.
This program offers opportunities to study fundamental physics, which explores the nature of matter from elementary particles to the universe, and applied physics, such as condensed matter physics and solid state physics.
The Life Science and Material Chemistry Program trains advanced science and engineering human resources with broad knowledge, thinking and problem-solving skills in life science and material chemistry, which encompasses the fundamentals and applications of chemistry.
The Earth, Life, Environmental Science Program trains advanced science and engineering human resources who can look at the intertwined issues of the earth, life, and the environment, and who possess advanced and broad knowledge and thinking skills in earth, biological, and environmental sciences.
The Mechatronics Program trains human resources who understand the fundamentals of natural sciences such as electromagnetism and various types of mechanics, and have broad knowledge and problem-solving skills in electrical and electronic engineering and mechanical engineering.
The Materials Science and Engineering Program trains materials researchers and engineers in materials science and related fields who will build a safe and secure society for the well-being of "human" and "the earth" as well as global leaders who will support materials innovation.
The Civil Design and Engineering Program trains human resources with expertise in urban and transportation design and advanced use of data science to design safe, secure, and comfortable cities from both the tangible (civil engineering) and intangible (urban and transportation policy) aspects to realize a sustainable society.
The Advance Clean Program trains human resources who can support the clean energy industry in the future by acquiring fundamental knowledge of chemistry in general, and a wide range of expertise in hydrogen energy, CO2 recycling, nuclear fusion, etc., and by possessing advanced research skills.
The doctoral program of Science and Engineering aims to deliver highly specialized and professional education in collaboration with its master’s program in order to develop high-level scientists and researchers who can greatly contribute to the promotion of innovation in new interdisciplinary research fields with full social accountability.
